Shows to consider on Satellite TV

Depending on your particular subscription, you could have up to 256 channels via satellite TV, which of course translates into a vast number of movies & shows on satellite which defies both quick counting and short description. Fortunately nobody is asking me to count.

Among the myriad of movies & shows on satellite are many options for viewing news and documentaries. The particular channels that offer documentary movies & shows on satellite are, for the most part, the same from DISH Network to DIRECTTV, although some channels require a more expensive package to obtain. For example, a DISH Network customer interested in the movies & shows on satellite aired over the National Geographic Channel would need to subscribe to the third most expensive package. A DIRECTTV customer, on the other hand, would obtain this station with the basic package.

This is not to say that DIRECTTV is better than DISH Network, but it is to point out the advantage of knowing your priorities in terms of the movies & shows on satellite you will most want to watch. For news programming, I find DIRECTTV a better option since its basic package not only includes all the ‘usual suspects’, i.e. CNN, Fox, MSNBC, CSPAN, etc., but also BBC America which I find often offers intriguing documentary movies & shows on satellite, as well as a different news angle than what I would otherwise expect. However, that is purely a matter of my preferences and tastes.

If you are considering satellite TV and you know news, or any other particular genre, is a big priority, take a moment to see which satellite services offer which program channels and on which level of subscription. While 256 channels is great, it is helpful to keep in mind that an individual’s or family’s viewing needs will, for the most part, remain within a certain suite of movies & shows on satellite. Given that, take the time for yourself or your family to assess your viewing needs and purchase the package best suited to offer the movies & shows on satellite you most want to watch.
